Landing technology

Strawberries called Borovitskaya are planted in early spring or very early fall. If there is a risk that after planting, the temperature regime will be very low and plants may be damaged by return frosts, then beds with plants should be protected by arches with a plastic film.

Before landing, you should correctly select and prepare the site. Strawberries can be planted after leafy salads, spinach, legumes, dill, cabbage and kohlrabi. However garden crops such as radishes, beans, mustard, radish, leaf parsley and garlic are the best predecessors for strawberries, or garden strawberries.

It is not recommended to cultivate garden strawberries after potatoes or tomatoes, as well as return strawberries to the site earlier than five to six years later.

Almost any soil is suitable for growing strawberries on a personal plot, but to obtain a high yield it is better to place seedlings of this berry culture on fertile and light, neutral soils. The correct plan for planting garden strawberries allows you to grow high-quality and large crops.

The best method of landing is considered to be two-line, in which the distance between the tapes is 65-70 cm. As a rule, with this method, the distance between the lines should not be less than 30-35 cm, and the distance between the bushes in the row should be about 15-20 cm. To accelerate the rooting of seedlings, before planting, all the roots of the plant must be carefully trimmed to a length of 5-7 cm, and then treated with growth stimulants.

Planting pits should be abundantly poured with warm water and straighten the root system of plants, which is then sprinkled with fertile soil. After planting, abundant watering is carried out, and it is also recommended to mulch with organic matter. Planting strawberries on an inorganic mulch in the form of special films or non-woven garden material of agrotex gives a good result.

Reviews gardeners and gardeners

A strawberry called Borovitskaya did not particularly impress many gardeners. Despite the characteristics declared by the originator of the variety, this strawberry from domestic breeders ripens very late, therefore, in the more northern regions of our country, the fruiting period, according to some gardeners, is insufficient. However, despite some disadvantages, the variety compares favorably with high winter hardiness and restoration ability, and also has established itself quite well in central Russia and the Moscow region.
